 * I have not tried it but I heard of rubbing French or Ranch salad dressing on the fish before dipping them in cornmeal .. not a lot just smear a little over the fish ..

 I haven't fished in years and it was all freshwater fishing.
My favourite fish to eat is plaice. I love it fried in breadcrumbs.
