Shibari and tying rope. About a year ago, I (the male part here) have taken up the art of Shibari bondage. The amount of knowledge I have gained as been tremendous, but still have very much to learn. Unfortunately, during our move, I had to take a break since my wife and I were apart for 2 months and our equipment was in storage as we looked for a place to live. Now, its on again LOL. My skill level is still very amateurish. I feel like a lot of that is the challenges I have. For one, a great person to practice on. I love my wife dearly, and cannot ask for a better half to me. The problem is that for one, she only gets so much enjoyment from being bound up. She loves the intimacy of it, which I ALWAYS make sure is there. On top of that, her pain thresh hold is pretty low. So obviously she is not the ideal person to tie up. She does indulge my desires though, damn she's awesome. We do have a friend that let me tie her a couple times. It was a lot of fun because she was very limber and enjoyed it. I think that is the key for a good bondage artist, a person that truly enjoys being tied up. A couple pics I post will be of her. Another challenge I have, my teacher.........ME. LOL. The only teacher I have had is myself. Reading, internet, and a few correspondence with experienced people. I feel like I have made good progress with what I do. I am first of all cautious and safe. I so do not want to be responsible for injuring somebody. I try to be as precise as possible. Keeping my<b> ties </font></b>tight and precise is something that probably get too crazy about. In a lot of the traditional tying videos I noticed they don't get too anal on being precise, but they always have<b> ties </font></b>that are functional. I think I need to lighten up on how much time I spend on being precise, besides safe placement of the rope of course. That's my experiences so far. Where I want to go? ALL THE WAY BABY LOL. Yeh that is what I want. My hope is that I will be suspending people within 5 years. I so need some help to get me there though. There is no way I will suspend without real training. I have suspended my self and my wife off my pull up bar LOL. In a very simple way though. I need to spend more time at events to get to know others that do this. I may also go as far as paying somebody for lessons. So am gonna post e few pics. The one of the lady suspended on the cross is my aspiration. The others are all my work. So give it to me. Suggestions, comments, or even just tell me how much I suck or not. All input welcome, just don't be a dick.           |

Yes, thank you for sharing the pix. There used to be frequent events/ munches/ classes to pursue for local "hands on" learning, I'd be very surprised if all the good resources went away, leaving a vacuum without being replaced. There were some rope classes held back when the Velvet Rope (what irony, huh?) was still the Ace, and the local Rose City Discussion Club site appears no longer current, but local shibari fans must be on at fetlife. I'm no expert and everyone's response varies, but one partner's breasts were much more sensitive (and responsive) when tied similar to your purple rope picture above. And about sensitive/responsive, there's so much room on the pleasure/pain spectrum, if your loving, accommodating wife is not into pain, she still must be willing to play with intensity of pleasure, keep her well rewarded for that.
