 You didn't indicate how you found out they were fake....was it because they didn't show up for a meet? Or they did show up and they weren't who they said they were?
You can always cam with the person(s) before meeting or chatting more, to prove you are real and so they can prove they are real.

 Thanks for your response.

Some don't show up, a few have given me someone else's address and a few have not been the people in the pictures (not even close). Before these ill fated meetings, I have chatted extensively, even on the phone. Who gives out their cell number if they aren't serious? I know a few!

I don't have a webcam, so that is out of the question.
