First Half of My Career (Music) Now semi retired... Looking back at my career & work history I was lucky enough to turn my hobbies into my life long career. Part 1; Audio Engineering Live Sound Mixing Engineer Recording Engineer Radio Programmer ( Adult Contemporary Format) This blog is more-or-less about the Radio Programming of the AC Format. The Adult Contemporary format back in the 70's and 80's Consisted of artist such as Billy Joel, Elton John, Barbara Streisand, Paul Anka, Sheena Easton etc... My job was to pick the song/artist and create a playlist. Each playlist was 30 minutes in length, consisting of two 15 minute segments. After the list was created. I would record the cuts onto Reel-to-Reel tapes. Have copies made of these tapes and sending them out to various Radio Stations throughout the US. Part of my job was to hang out in the city of where each station was playing our music. Making sure the station played the<b> songs </font></b>in the order that was on the list I created. I would have so much fun with this. I would hang out and bars and restaurants That had the station on and say to those working... I bet you I can tell you what song comes on next. Not telling them what I do. After we laughed about it I would tell them what I do and show them my playlist. ~Holly      ~Holly Atlantic City, NJ |
