FM Radio 1969

The year was 1969...

My oldest sister turned me onto Rock 'N Roll Radio.

The station was WNEW-FM in New York
102.7 FM

Music ended up being a large part of my working career
The first 20 years of working, I worked at various Recording Studios,
Throughout NYC and the DC area.

In '69 I was 11... To young to go to Woodstock

What was the first FM station you listened to, and in what city did the station broadcast from?

Yes, I know this blog has nothing to do with my beach blogs.

Hope everyone is well...

I'm not sure it was the first but I listened mostly to WMMR out of Philly until I discovered WGLS ans WXPN. While I do like the World Cafe WXPN, I'm referring to the 80's before they lost their license WXPN.

Growing up in Central Jersey we mostly received the NY stations. That same sister of mine ended up going to Glassboro College in 1970. She turned me onto WMMR and WFIL.
Thanks for reading and your comment.

I lived with my folks in Albuquerque. When I was old enough to listen to FM I probably listened to I think, KUNM, the jazz station at the University of New Mexico.

WMMS - Cleveland Rocks!

I lived for the weekly King Biscuit Flower Hour live recorded shows.!

Very cool show "King Biscuit Flower Hour"
One of my favorite female singers was from Ohio.
Chrissy Hynde from the Akron. And wow did I love watching WKRP even though not the Cleveland area. Thanks for the comment.
