Gold vs. Standard Members I've seen more than a few women say they would never meet a standard member. I don't get it. Once you've paid the membership fee, you have free reign. You can send all the messages you want. You can start as many chats as you want. You rule the world here. Or so it would seem. Standard members on the other hand, you folks have to put in a little effort to make contact. You have to figure out how to earn points or part with a few dollars if you find a member you fancy. I personally appreciate the efforts a standard member goes through to make contact. I know it's a crap shoot, and it's like playing craps in the dark, because you can't even see profiles without paying a small fee. You are the gems, the ones willing to get creative and put in some effort to make initial contact. I have never, and I will never, pay for a membership here. Every so often I do something that makes my views go up, and I'm giving a short free membership as FriendFinder-x's way of saying thanks for keeping our site active. I've also never met a gold member from here. I've only met standards. I'm not biased, I'm not saying I'd never meet a paid member, I've just found in my experience that the standards are more likely to seem sincere. I'm not saying don't buy a membership. Everyone needs to do what makes them happy. Those of you who feel standard members are wasting their time and aren't worthy of your attention, stick with that attitude. Then I'll have less competition for the unpaid masses when my free membership runs out in a couple weeks. |

I was a paying member for quite a while and then let my membership lapse. The reason was simple: bad odds for us men. When you strip away all the fake profiles, there are at least 100 men for every woman on this site. It's great for the women since you have the pick of the litter so to speak. For the men, it's worse than playing the lottery and I felt like I was throwing my money away. The solution was to go standard and hope for the best. The reason women get free memberships is to keep you on the site to give the men a sliver of hope. If you went away, the odds would mushroom to 300 to 1 against us. There are plenty of men who keep paying for a membership just so they can perv photos and videos, with the scant hope of actually meeting a real woman on here. It does happen, but not often. I'm sure some women think that guys like me are too cheap to pay for a membership, and that if I took you out to dinner, it would be to Burger King. They don't know me, but I really don't care what they think. They may also think that I'm not real either and that paying somehow validates your reality. Wrong again. I'm as real as they get. Thank you for having an open mind. Now I know there's at least one genuine woman on this site who won't prejudge or stereotype me as something that I'm not. Kisses from NH!

Nice post Jessabell and straight to the point. I've been a standard member here for a lot of years and have seen a lot of changes to the site. As it stands now gold members can message me but i can1t read there message or answer them.If i was a gold member i am paying to be able to contact all members. So it would appear that gold members are paying but not receiving the full benefits they have coming. But i`m a lot like you I LOVE FREE SHIT.

I paid for a silver and gold membership for some time. Got very little value from it. The odds for me are very poor....and a gold membership does not make it any better! So if a woman does not want a standard member....that's too bad. Not wanting to waste money on a gold membership is a sign of a smart person who would rather spend money on a good date that waste it here!

I was a gold member for a while,but let my membership run out, now it is free membership, I will tell anyone you have to do what is best for you, If someone send me a nice message I always respond,whether they are gold, standard or silver, I don't think a man is being cheap by not paying for membership, I also think he is being smart.and what has being going on this site lately is worth the money, But like you said if they don't reply to standard members it give us ladies who do more choices, lololol

I am leaning towards not renewing, the problem is they keep cutting standards back and back and even chatting now is almost impossible. When I standard I did everything I could to get points and be top fan to women who interested me and in fact I haven't met anyone since I've paid who interests me nearly as much as someone I met as a standard. Although it doesn't take a gold to blog and if they change that it will be time to delete my profile.....

i have been on for years and they keep trying to get me to buy a membership, true thins are limited to what you can and can not do, the blogs are interesting, the camera view works, and if someone wants to contact you, sometimes mail is a blur, but fanning works

Hi i just joined a few days ago, so complete newbie. maybe some of you more experienced gentlemen/ladies can help me out. I just paid for a gold membership. for a month (if I had read some of the blogs above, maybe I wouldn't have paid). Anyway, now that I've paid, I assume that I can send messages to both gold and standard members. But can they respond ONLY if they are gold members? Or can standard members reply as well? Thanks

Great info! Was thinking about becomming a gold member to be able to get in contact with women easier, but it doesn't seem this site works that way.
