I’ve been here before

I’ve been lonely

Sad

Rejected

Dejected

Lost

It’s not a new feeling

And I know I will be fine

But I hate that we ended up this way

I still see the look on your face the last time I saw you

There was no sign of this

No look that said you’d be leaving me

In fact, it was quite the opposite

If anything, I saw a look of love

Of desire

Of contentment

Of peace

And I’ve been here before

I know I will be fine

I just wish I could understand how it happened

With someone who still wanted me
