Nawty Was In Full Effect at Last Night's House Party! I love house parties. Whether I'm hosting or you are, if done right, no one from the party will ever forget 'that night'. One of the best recipes a friend can share is the one for a great house party: Guest List - invite a diverse group of friends and include plenty of extroverts. You know, the people that make everyone feel like they're included and a new best friend. Friendly guests = more flirting Lighting is KEY - you should have several layers of lighting in each room and set the tone to warm and low. If you don't have this already, create it. Not necessarily with an overload of candles that will light drunk guest's hair on fire. Soft, warm light = more flirting Stock UP - good alcohol and ICE ICE baby is uber important. Make your guests feel special by having the good stuff for them. BYOB is ok, but at least have some essentials as backup. In my opinion, age 30 and beyond calls for an upgrade in your party hosting and drink choices. Don't be cheap. Good drinks = more flirting Introduce - make sure each and every guest gets introduced. Not just by name, but also how you met, something they share in common, let them know you're excited to introduce them because you think they'll get along well. They instantly will. Introductions = more fucking, oops I mean, more flirting If I have a friend that brings cheap shit or their taste is off from that of the general group, I don't invite them. Doesn't mean I don't like them, but they don't belong in that crowd. I aim to mix groups that will work well together. Might be a strange mix to segue from recipes to fucking stories, but that's me for you. Last night, I attended a fun little house party hosted by friends in my neighborhood. I arrived knowing only the host and so the thought that this might not go well was definitely in the back of my mind. However, the key elements were all met. She made her guests feel special by offering delicious prepared drinks, tons of attention to party details, and she even hired a driver for the night, since Uber/Lyft is currently out of service, to be sure guests made it to and fro safely. The crowd was diverse and attractive. Unbeknownst to me, I caught the eye of a cute 27 yo who has just moved to Austin. There were also several people in attendance visiting from out-of-state, as this couple has only lived in Austin a few years and their friends from home love to visit. That aspect upped the friendliness and energy level considerably. I met a ton of really fun people and only wanted to fuck one husband that is off-limits. He was really hot.
