Longing

I dreamed of him tonight.

His kind smile, his twinkling eyes......

Smiling up at him, we were about to kiss, soft music was playing in the background.

It was the first time, in a long time, I genuinely felt happy.

A few years have passed since I've actually seen or talked to him in real life. It didn't end terribly, it just kind of, ended. He was married, and I was single, there really never was a future for us, anyway.

I hate this dream.

It reawakened feelings I haven't felt in months, possibly years, and saddened me.
