Is my Ex being.... Helpful?!?
Is my Ex being.... Helpful?!? unaccustomed to this feeling.... It almost feels like, gratitude. My Ex-Husband was in shopping today, we ended up crossing paths on the sales floor. I asked him what the plans were for Christmas this year and we talked briefly about when I should pick up my .... etc. He told to wait until Christmas Eve to pick her up, so I told him I'd get her after work. The conversation led to Christmas presents and he said he was just going to give her . ?? I ended up telling him about a few things that were on her Christmas list that I hadn't gotten her. She had wanted a new pair of converse tennis shoes, but I got her Ugg boots instead because she needed new boots. There were a couple of other things that I just hadn't been able to find and I told him about those as well. She's a lucky little stinker because he told he would shop around town and get the last few things on her list. It almost felt like I was in an alternate universe, to be honest. My Ex can be such a dink to .... When it comes to the though, especially our , there isn't much he isn't willing to do for them. I know a lot of it is because he's older..... When you're 62 and your youngest is , I think you try to make the most of what time you have with them. |

well that's nice that you are cordial to one another for the kids sake.

Well it sounds like your daughter is lucky to have you both this Christmas!! I have a similar situation, only my daughter is now 21 and living with me while going to college. I know I would do everything I can for her. My ex and I get along pretty well and that has helped as she has grown. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and I hope your daughter is happy with all the gifts!!

When you're 62 and your youngest child is 12, I think you try to make the most out of what time you have with them. .... Only if there is love for the kid. The "Time" concept doesn't matter.

That's good he is being nice. That is helpful. I am usually too nice to my Ex.... then & now. But I get that from my Dad. Right now my daughter (technically my former step daughter) is living with me while she goes to college & works. I do everything I can for her. Kids should always come first.

Hi secret_lade thanks for sharing this with me "for the children", always the right thing reminded me of this John Mellencamp - "For The Children" I wish I could give you an answer As to when life really begins I wish I could tell you where we went When our days here come to an end Wish I could see the future The same way I see the past Wish I could draw a conclusion Why nothing here seems to last I can't even make a guess Or an uneducated thought All I can do here is my best And be thankful for what we've got Why do so many suffer Oppressed to the end of time Why does freedom move so slowly Unable to speak its mind Some say it's a circle Others think we live on the wing Why are promises broken And some think life don't mean a thing I can't even make a guess Or an uneducated thought All I can do here is my best And be thankful for what we've got I hope you can be a child of life With big dreams for everyone And know that dyings as natural as birth And our troubles here they don't last long I have worried about many things Most of which did not come to pass Hope you find someone to give you love And that your love will last I can't even make a guess Or an uneducated thought All I can do here is my best And be thankful for what we've got We've got

No, he always makes sure the kids get me Christmas gifts, so I don't have to add anything from my wish list.
