The Fight is On!

The Fight is On!

In this corner.... We have Downstairs Nightmare!! Dressed in fuzzy, lavender, unicorn pajamas, Downstairs Nightmare is ready to RUMBLE with her portable backpack oxygen tanks and Marlboro Reds safely tucked away under the right shoulder strap of her tank top.

In the other corner.... We have Handicap Parking Spot Lady! Dressed in a black hoodie and several layers of hair, Handicap Parking Spot Lady is prepared to do battle! Tensions are THICK as Handicap Parking Spot Lady's steely glare rests upon Downstairs Nightmare!

Who will be our victor?? Who will end up writhing in defeat??

I had heard some commotion last night coming from the patio area of the Downstairs Nightmare's apartment. Not thinking anything of it, I'm pretty accustomed to her abrasive voice and obnoxious behavior, so I kind of just blew it off.

Then I headed to work today and noticed her red, patchwork truck parked in the handicap parking spot.

This is new....

No handicap plate. No handicap placard hanging from the rear view mirror. I've never actually seen the truck parked in the handicap parking spot before....

I have, however, seen the car with the handicap plate park in the handicap parking spot ever since the<b> owner </font></b>of the car moved into the building.

Oooh... This can't be good.

So, it turns out, my Downstairs Nightmare has decided she is entitled to the parking spot because of her breathing issues and has taken it over. Handicap Parking Spot Lady?? She's PISSED at this recent turn of events.

It is all out war!

Already tonight I've seen two arguments and a fight.

Happy Tuesday

Yes, you have to have some sort of placard or tag to legally park in a handicap spot. You should call the management office and tell them what's going on. If they won't do anything about the situation, call the police and see what your options are for not only the noise, but the illegal parking.
I've decided to just keep my nose out of this one.... It will implode on itself before long.

Oh, but it's so much more FUN when there's drama involved! Why involve the police when you can create a daily public spectacle? LOL

The law requires you to have the appropriate plate / placard /etc. to park in a handicapped spot, regardless of where the spot is located. Malls, etc. are private property yet the laws are enforced just the same.

Reminds me of my borderline, bilateral amputee, ex-wife. I once jokingly told her I was only with her for the good parking.
Oh my.... That totally sounds like something I'd say. LOL

So far, she's still there.... And it's all quiet tonight. Waiting to see what happens next...

Once she lights up with the oxygen tank, problem will be solved.
    Keep your fire extinguisher handy.
Tell me about it! She only recently starting wearing the oxygen.... I think if she gave up the smokes she'd be a hell of a lot better off.

In MI, it's a $110 parking ticket and it goes up $10 every 2 weeks that it's unpaid.
She's still parked there, so, I don't think the police have been involved yet....

i'm just curious to know if the "dog fight" between these two also counts for one of the arguments or if there was an actual dog, bow, wow, fight?
    summer can be so brutal.
Actual dog fight... They both have dogs and live right across the hall from each other. So, while Nightmare was downstairs smoking on her patio, Handicap trucked her butt out there with her dog to confront her. Bad choice... Once they started yelling, the dogs started fighting.

Wait, is it implied that someone who is using an oxygen tank ALSO smokes? Does she not see the link between her smoking and her breathing issues? The heck? And how has she not managed to light herself on fire toting around oxygen tanks?
Yes! That is the case! I've heard her complaining about her lung infection, heard her hacking and coughing during all hours of the day and night, and still she continues to smoke. I don't know if they've even lived in their apartment for a whole year, but the blinds are literally yellow from nicotine.

I know it varies in some cities , but where I am ; Parking in a Handicap Space without proper tag is a $150 minimum fine !!!! The other one I see quite often that Gripes me are the people that park outside of stores in the " FIRE LANE " That I believe is also a $150 fine !!!
I hate that too! People will park right outside the door where I work, on the sidewalk, which means in order to walk to my car in employee parking, I have to literally walk right out in the driving lane. No class... No respect for other's safety.

I may be mistaken... But I think it might be against the law to park in a handicap parking spot if you don't have the proper authorization. Am I right? I would think the rule still applies even in the parking lot of an apartment complex?
