It's a mask free world again!

The moment I've been waiting for is finally here....

Michigan has lifted the mask mandate.

Because I'm fully vaccinated, I was able to stop wearing my mask last week, but today marks the official day that everyone is able to go mask free if they choose to do so.

Not going to lie, I feel like I'm meeting my coworkers for the first time all over again.... Especially the new ones that I may not have ever seen without their masks.

In some cases, it's a little frightening.

"Hi [secret_lade], I'm sorry to hear about your dad."

I could hear one of the newer leaders talking to me from behind, so I turned to acknowledge his comment and thank him.

The look on my face when I saw him for the first time without his mask must have been priceless. I think I may have actually taken a step backwards to regain my composure.

"Thank you, it was a little unexpected, it's good to be back to work."

What's unexpected is the fact that you HAVE NO TEETH!

We had brought him on board during the midst of COVID so all of his interviews had been behind a masked face.

You just don't expect to see someone in their twenties be completely toothless and without dentures.

Especially someone in a leadership role!

The next couple of days are going to be pretty interesting as I begin to see people again without masks.....

Happy Tuesday!

Really... I don't fly at all, so I didn't know that. Do you have to provide vaccine cards? I saw talk of that on the news.
I think proof of a vaccine helps you get through things overseas. It’s not required to fly here, in the USA. Still, ALL people in airports and on board planes must wear masks. The only exceptions are very young children. Under two years old I believe.

People who raise a ruckus end up being denied the right to fly. I hear that being on a no-fly list is no fun. Therefore, It’s best practice to put a mask on if you want to use a plane.

Honestly, I hated wearing a $#%*#@ mask. Fogs up my glasses.

we here in NY have seen more and more people removing masks
there are a few places that still require masks
still see older people and young kids with mask on
im still on the fence for im finding people are getting to close to me food shopping
other than that as soon as I get out the mask is off.
still hate seeing used masked on the ground in parking lots
may we still be safe this is not over nor may never be over
I've always been a distance person, I don't like people in my personal bubble. That won't change for me, I'll always keep some distance. Customers don't care though, they'll get right up in your face to ask a question. Lack of respect.

If you feel safer and healthier, you should. I have a few friends with compromised immunity who are as well.

To tell you the tooth; infection rates are back on the rise over here.
Interestingly enough, ours in Michigan went from over a thousand a day to under a hundred in a span of like 3 weeks. I've always felt like they inflated those numbers with medical coding anyway....

Interesting point about masks being a sort of equalizer, with respect to diminishing the biases we may have, when cuing off their personal appearance.

The mandate was lifted here a few weeks ago. I'm fully vaccinated, but often prefer to wear a mask anyway as a way to maintain my anonymity. Psychoanalyze that one all you want.
Are you a super hero?

An interesting point to ponder. I picked up several new clients last year, therefore like you, the clients and I are bound to meet face to face at some point. I work with so many people I don't expect anything shocking from what I will see, however, I cannot speak for others as to what they may think of me.
I don't think people will be all that surprised with my unmasked face. Before COVID, people always remarked about my smile.

It's GREAT too feel Liberated of the mask & also know that I have complied and been Vaccinated even though I had IT and Fought IT
I still find myself reaching up to take it off every once in a while.... Lol. The hardest part was getting over the feeling that I was breaking the law by not wearing it the first couple of days.

Myself not getting the vaccine so still wearing one and whatever else I was doing
The mask mandate was strictly enforced where I work. We were lucky to only have a handful of people test positive through all of it, I know employers in other areas weren't quite so lucky.

I had one of those moments as well.... I hired a new girl last week who had the most beautiful blue eyes. Saw her today without the mask.... Yellow, rotten teeth. Yikes!! Bad teeth are a problem up here where I live.

    Hmmm... interesting point.
Ya think he would have been hired had anyone noticed the gap in his mouth? 🤔
I betcha if they all closed their eyes, they'd probably still follow his lead; or does he lisp as well? ❗😮

True. I've never seen a toothless leader. Imagine Kennedy with no teeth? He'd probably STILL be a janitor — retired by now, of course. 😎
To be honest, I don't know if he would have. I know it shouldn't make a difference, but when you work with the public, presentation is important. We a leader, he has to diffuse complicated customer situations. An angry customer may not be easily smoothed over by toothless Joe the hill billy.

I imagine an old toothless janitor COULD be a leader somewhere leading someone, or many ones. 😊

Living without teeth is NOT the end of the world — it's simply a lifestyle choice for those without a dental plan. ❗❗😎

Humans are the most dangerous animals on earth.

If only animals had the ability to know when to keep away from us humans they would be better off.
