Phone calls from Don Juan....

Phone calls from Don Juan.... So.... This is a first. I was sitting in my office yesterday, working on the retention spreadsheet, when I got a random phone call from one of the new third shift employees. "Hey, I just wanted to call and say hi." Um..... What?!? "Oh, hello." Awkward silence, I could hear a barking in the background of the phone call and Don Juan was shushing him quietly. Nose Hairs had walked into my office, seen I was on the phone, and waited by the door for me to finish. This guy literally just called to shoot the shit.... I had to cut the call short. "I've got a meeting at 9, was there anything you needed me to do for you? I know I don't get the opportunity to touch base with the third shift." There was nothing he actually needed from me, so the phone call ended. I looked at Nose Hairs in complete disbelief. "I have no words. Literally." "Who was that?" "One of the new third shift employees. He called to say 'hi'. He actually called just to have random conversation. Who does that??" "Was it the guy who was hitting on you a few weeks ago?" I had forgotten all about it, but it was! "Oh My God! It was!!" "You know what you're going to have to do, you're going to need to start wearing a wedding ring." I looked down at my hand and tried to remember a time when I'd actually had a wedding band on that finger.... It's been a long time. "Yah, that just feels kinda sketchy. And fake." Not going to lie, it did make me wonder how many women out there do wear a wedding band at times just so they don't have to deal with this kind of stuff. The bigger question is, why is it always the wrong man who chooses to express an interest in me at inappropriate times? I may never know... |

I don't think a wedding ring is the answer. I think someone is going to have to have a talk with him and tell him what he did was inappropriate and could cause some problems....like him losing his job.

The only trouble is, he won't see your wedding ring when he phones next time....That's if there is a next time?

It's a little bit tougher for me to employ those tactics when I'm at work. LOL They all know I only speak English and for the most part they all know I'm single. I can use the 'I can't date coworkers' excuse though, so, at least I've got that.

Yep, he literally called just to say hi. The whole conversation was just bizarre and awkward, thankfully I don't run into him any time soon. Good grief.

Interesting that it was Nose Hairs that suggested that. In my head, I am now hearing the Beyonce song "Single Ladies" and have a mental image of Nose Hairs down on one knee in front of you, handing you a tiny box. This is very Freudian in my opinion! lol

You could wear a rainbow bracelet, anything that would resemble gay pride, but then you might have some of the women hitting on you.

Well, they say you got to kiss a lot of toads before you kiss a Frogprince. Guess you have to dodge a lot of them too. Here is to that prince coming along soon and you really wanting that first kiss.

Well one thing is he does like something about you 😏 He is thrilled shift so you can only see him after work. Now if he shows up after his shift then your going to be in for a long 900 am meeting with door close and nose hair with her ear to the door. Lis to all the moans and grown and oh my God's lololl Now who said she need to relax and forget about work and life for awhile. Xoxoxoxo

Shouldn't you be flattered? 🤔 lol 😂 I wore my wedding band for years after the papers came in - because I liked it and gold suited me. Until that day when I was talking with a nice woman, we were getting along real fine, and then SHE noticed it... and cut our convo off. I didn't have the time to explain anything. But I took that ring off. It can work both ways. 😮❗❗😊

Maybe one day... I'm a little worried that I may have closed myself off and won't recognize it when or if it happens.
