Donald Trump Here's what Donald Trump should have done regarding the Coronavirus pandemic. When he was first elected he should have read and reviewed Barack Obama's virus pandemic Playboo And become familiar with how deal with a pandemic. 2nd maintain federal and state medical equipment stockpiles. 3rd he should not have eliminated and cut funding to US pandemic response teams around the world especially China! 4th he should have listened to the warnings from his advisors in January. Shut down all international flights and connecting flights from China or any other country that showed a spike in coronavirus cases and deaths. 5th begin production and stockpiling of coronavirus testing kits making sure they properly work in testing for the Coronavirus. Begin controlled clinical trials to find a vaccine for the Coronavirus. Next, when the first case of coronavirus occurred in Washington State on January 21st he should have begun contact tracing testing and isolation of positive coronavirus cases. Begin testing of the general population. Especially all metropolitan areas like New York New Jersey Boston LA Miami etc. Begin social distancing shut down all large gatherings of people beaches tourist attractions arenas etc. Invoke and enforce the Defense Production Act. Donald Trump should not have undermined the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic and spread disinformation to the American people! If Donald Trump would have done these things we would not have seen 500,000 cases soon to be over a million cases and 22,000 deaths soon to be over 50,000 deaths! But Donald Trump began social distancing on March 16th just days before the beginning of the spike in cases and deaths! Clearly he did not begin soon enough! this date, there is still inadequate PPE ventilators contact tracing and testing.   |

Your description describes every politician on office. They all have their own agendas that do not have the peoples best interest. I'm not trying to argue that Trump is a saint, but you are blaming a single individual for something that everyone on Capitol Hill has created and they ALL have their hands dirty from this disaster.

I'm not talking about looking back for history sake, they look back so they can act smarter and tell what should have been done! They r part of the problem, not he solution! while were at it, opening the country on may 1st is NOT gonna happen. and predator trump knows it. so why is he "pushing" for it? so he can look like the "hero" trying to restore things and blame everyone else as being "against him" when it inevitably doesnt happen. shit, if only hed put half as much effort into BEING a good president as he does PRETENDING to be one . . . and its all a part of his on-going con-job to get votes. but the saddest thing is how many die-hard trumpers are eating it up. how many calories are there per serving of bullshit? some smoke and mirrors and they vote for him. theres a sucker born every minute. lucky for me, i have a bunch of bridges to sell them.

yes, hindsight is always 20/20, or so they say, but its also been said that he who doesnt understand history is doomed to repeat it. but the issue here is trumps inability and/or unwillingness to look forward. and even now, the only thing hes looking forward to is reelection, but with blinders on to anything else. even many republicans are now questioning his actions and statements. so disagreeing with what hes saying and doing isnt necessary being a democrat. SO, its a fair question to ask trumps supporters if when they defend him with insults to anyone and everyone, are they doing so because theyve analyzed the facts? or are they doing it just because theyre republican?

Coulda, woulda, shoulda.... We all blame someone for the issue, try and back it with statistics from the ol interweb (cause the web is always accurate  ).IF all the things had been done as suggested by the OP, we still don't know the outcome would not be the same. IF all those things had been done and the outbreak in America was stopped, then he would have been chastised for over reacting. IF he had done all those things and the country was just as it is now, he would still be chastised for not doing enough. We cannot blame our elected presidents for all that is wrong in this country, because the country is run by "group" of people known as elected officials. (notice the word "ELECTED") It's not "one" persons fault. All side share blame in what ever ails this country, lets not forget that. As far as the statistics mentioned, those totals are predicted totals, not factual. Those show double the cases and more than double the deaths, but that is pure speculation no mater how the calculations are derived. There are too many variables to account for that could change those numbers and throwing them out there as if they are facts, is down right dangerous. This is my opinion on the matter....
