Donald Trump Well, it happened over 100,000 deaths in the US. I had predicted it between 24-26 of this month. And now the last day of my prediction it happened! Death surpassed 100,000! Why so many dead?! Why so many more than any other country?! Because of the incompetence and indifference of a leader who could not lead us in our hour of need. But instead, let us down! A leader who abandoned us when we needed him the most! A leader who failed us! Trump delayed U.S. travel restrictions from China despite warnings from his own administration and other U.S. officials. On January 2—four weeks before Trump took action—Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield warned the National Security Council about the early cases of coronavirus in China and its potential spread to the United States. U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar relayed this message to Trump administration officials on January 3, telling his own chief-of-staff, “This is a very big deal.” Because of Trump’s late response, more than 430,000 people came to the United States from China after Chinese officials notified the U.S. administration of the seriousness of the Wuhan outbreak—nearly 40,000 of whom arrived after Trump’s restrictions went into effect. In another example of the administration’s careless response, Trump played seven rounds of golf and held four political rallies during the time between the CDC’s first warning and the day U.S. travel restrictions went into effect. The month between January 2, when the CDC warned the White House, and February 2, when the U.S. government started enforcing the travel ban, was a critical period for making preparations to mitigate a potential outbreak in the United States. On 11 of those days, Trump either played golf or traveled to a political rally. Trump waited 40 days—until March 11—after he announced the China travel ban to implement travel restrictions from Europe. At that point, New York already had 2 cases. Research now shows that travelers from Europe—not China—were the primary cause of the COVID-19 spread in the New York region. New York state alone currently has more cases than every other country outside the United States. Researchers found that the coronavirus was already spreading throughout the region by mid-February and that “ the majority is clearly European.” According a recently unearthed email thread with public health experts and administration officials, the European travel ban was far too late to have any impact. A former Trump homeland security adviser summed it in an email: “There’s little value European travel restrictions. Poor use of time & energy. Earlier, yes. … We have nearly as much disease here in the US as the countries in Europe. I've looked up rumps response. He is doing th best he can considering the people he has to work with. Also dealing with virus that we know nothing about. Not one mention about Ny, NJ, Conn, MI, who failed very badly about the virus. Cuomo should be charged with murder. It's easy to judge others when you don't like them because you were told to not like them. I've read your posts , you get a zero for fair content

WOW! The fast are out there if anyone would care to look. Guess some need to blame the prez. Nursing homes? Cuomo infected the non infected , killing a few thousand, that was his decision to do that. There were hospitals set up to receive corona infected, but Cuomo blew it as did a few surrounding states.

The federal response to this pandemic was both late and inadequate. As late as the end of February, the current administration was still insisting that the situation was under control, when it was quite obvious that is was going to blow up. A coordinated federal response was critical, yet the states were left to not only formuate individual responses, but also to compete for an inexcusably inadequate supply of resources. There seems to now be an astonishing tendency among some to downplay the number of deaths that have occured as the result of this virus. The fact that the death toll has been "only" just over 100,000 (a level the current president vowed it would never reach) has been the direct result of social distancing and stay at home measures. But the troubling reality is, this isn't over yet, and no one can predict what will happen. We don't know how much the onset of hot weather is going mitigate the spread, if at all, and we are almost certain to have another major outbreak next fall and winter. The concern I have is that the success in keeping the death toll comparatively "low" during the early months of this pandemic will lead to a bias towards an entirely inadequate response when the spread fires up again with the return of colder weather. We should never forget the lessons of history. The influenza outbreak in 1918-1919 killed some people in the early winter months of 1918, but the deadliest months of the outbreak were in the late months of 1918 and the early months of 1919 after the usual respite during the summer months. We also don't really know much yet about reinfection rates and how quickly this virus is able to evolve different strains. Some researchers believe at least 8 already exist, which could make the development of an effective vaccine problematic. One way or another, don't assume that this storm is over.

Okay so let's look at this scientifically. The United States is ranked number one in number of deaths and the number of cases. United States is ranked 12th in the number of deaths and the number of cases per capita. The virus originated in China. Correct?! So the only way for the virus to reach the United States is by boat or plane. So even though Donald Trump ban travel from China there was still infected people entering into our country. And once these people entered into our country they infected other people until now we have over 100,000 people dead! Trump keeps bragging how he acted quickly by Banning travel from China. Yes the only thing he did relatively early but inadequately. Otherwise he continued to downplay minimize the pandemic. He was more concerned about his re-election and the stock market than human lives. He should have acted more quickly with stay-at-home orders social distancing testing and contact tracing Supply needed PPE and medical equipment! And instead of petty little arguments with governors he should have backed them 100% with whatever they needed to combat the Coronavirus! PS I really enjoyed reading the comments on her today. There are a couple of commenters that are just plain insane and I know you are well aware of that. ICould's comments are always done with good foresight and hindsight and I appreciate his additions even sometimes when I may not totally agree. And then, too, there are a couple that well this is your blog so I will refarin from what should happen to them
