Dead Pets Visiting You

Dead pets visiting you

Valentine's Day

I have just read a rather interesting article about pets who have died coming back and appearing to and visiting their owners. Bel Mooney of the Daily Mail which is an English paper documents her and dozens of readers experiences. Has this ever happened to you?

I ask... and entertain this notion... because one night when I was alone except for my new dog, Buddy, Jr., I had an event experience of my own. My who I called just Buddy, and now Buddy, Sr., was a Chow Norwegian Elkhound mix. He was very distinctive, athletic, powerful, and about 65 pounds. I was working in my home in the Poconos on a computer upstairs in my bedroom of the other house... a two story that my dad had bought in 1960 for the family vacations and weekends.

It was early evening, and I was engrossed in something on the computer. Perhaps it was around 2004 or so. By this time my new dog... Buddy, Jr., was around somewhere. I bought him in 2000 to replace Buddy, Senior, and was heartbroken from Senior's death. So this was maybe three or four years after Buddy, Senior's death. He was put to sleep for an unknown disease... which we now know was fourth stage lyme disease. I cried in the vet's offices in Florida when he was put to sleep.

Anyway... this lonely eve in 2004 or so... I heard a familiar clacking of toenails trotting up the slick wooden stairs of the two story. My bedroom was to the right off the top of the stairway at the back side of the house, facing the woods and the two car garage. Since the door was open... I paused typing and waited to see my new doggy, Buddy, Jr., appear around the corner... obviously lonely and wanting to see his master buddy also! Buddy Jr is a size smaller than Senior... only about 40-44 pounds, and less active. He is a Keeshond and Senior as said was a Chow Elkhound mix.

I saw no come around the corner into the room. I got up and peered out into the hallway and turned on the light. I peered down the steps and saw absolutely no sign of a dog. I thought Junior had come up only to decide against it. Checking on him... I tiptoed down the stairs and round the corner to the fireplace hearth, only to see Buddy, Junior fast asleep on the floor, obviously not night walking or wandering.

I have no doubt I heard toenails coming up the steps. I have no doubt they were the size and weight of my former dog. I have no doubt Junior had not moved at all in the past few minutes. I have no doubt that a supernatural event had just occurred involving the identity of my former of some three or four years. He was put to sleep in Florida, but had no trouble locating me in our Pennsylvania home in the Poconos, where he spent the summer months for three wonderful years of his short life with mom and myself.

The event was NOT spooky. It was comforting and warming. There was no terror or fear involved at all. I am certain I did not imagine it. I was not even thinking at the time about the dogs at all. How bout you? Any of you have these comfort sign events from your pets? Cat or dog?
