Well, to be fair to the guys, if they are writing a lengthy text, they may need to abbreviate to fit it all in. CU does save 5 characters (including the space)... However, I'm also guessing that the texts themselves are short anyway, so that kind of negates my argument. Honestly, correct spelling, punctuation and grammar are the online equivalent of dressing smartly for an interview. Without making a good impression, the candidates are not likely to get very far, no matter what other "qualifications" they may have to offer. One of my favourite sayings: Grammar: The difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit.

Madam, It's uneasy to see a female member here who looks for the beauty of the mind prior to sex. After all, this is a website for one night stand or sex finders. Most of mem or women here merely care about sex but not mind. I totally stand on your side. I also like to have some witty or interesting conversations with a female before having a date. I understand your point, but I try not to let such things disturb me too much. A similar and common complaint might be two partners apparently enjoying themselves at the dinner table while swiping away at their individual cellphones thoroughly ignoring the other’s presence. The use of newly devised abbreviations and the apparent non-stop use of social media are generally the preference of youth. They do not regard themselves as being at all impolite ………. indeed, they see themselves as participating in the latest fashion and in their minds eye are ‘upping their game’. I do however sympathise with you as I also prefer to see the use of proper grammar and lively conversation over dinner with a bottle (or two?) of wine. Fashions change. During the 1960’s and 1970’s I was part of the new culture that took a fresh and open approach to sexual mores..........to the great annoyance of the then older generation and establishment. As a result, I am not too upset by CU’s, YOLO’s at S’up’s, et al. When I see their use, it enables me to filter unwanted people with whom I know I will have little in common from those I will find of greater interest. I find the ability to apply such filters convenient.

Ah - I wondered if that might have been the case, Wet. I see various other dropped letters in your post, too - like "hool" instead of, I hope, "school". I have often had to go back to my posts and edit them for missing letters, too. I thought it was just me or my keyboard... seems it might be the site. Well, it fucks up in so many other ways, why not in capturing the typing correctly, too? Sigh.

I'm wondering if it is more a generational thing then a sex thing? Would like to know what younger females think. I am similar to your age and I originally abhorred the short cuts, but as an efficiency seeker - if the younger generation made these improvements and are living by them, I think we need to adapt
