Why do many women love anal?

I am a heterosexual,married, monogamous woman who is in her late 30′s and has recently grown to love anal to the point where vaginal<b> intercourse </font></b>is part of foreplay for me.

I am not someone who can climax from vaginal<b> intercourse </font></b>alone, unless I am super turned on. I went from having an orgasm maybe 30% of the time to over 90%.

I had had maybe two pain free experiences in the past, but derived zero pleasure from it. I had a couple painful attempts as well. All attempts were initiated by my partner at the time.

When my husband inquired about it, I immediately shut him down and did not intend on changing my mind. We continued to respectfully talk about it from time to time and I decided we could try, quite simply because I love him and wanted to make him feel good. I trusted that he would never hurt me and if I said stop, that'd be the end of it.
There is a level of mental preparation required. You really must focus on relaxing and use a lot of lube. The first time was ok. I didn't experience any pain so I considered it a success between that and the fact that I was comfortable enough to let my husband enjoy himself and finish.

The second time I recognized that there was a goodness there and wanted to further explore it. The third time, after the required slow start, I relaxed enough to take a fair amount of intensity and even told him to go harder toward the end, due in part to feeling like I could maybe climax.
