Why I stopped lecturing at CSUSB Another in my series of TRUE stories from my past Fall 1989 Cal State University at San Bernardino I’d been lecturing at CSUSB for over 10 years. One day in the Fall of 1989 I show up to find a note on the classroom door saying my lecture was cancelled. And another note for me to see the Dean of Art. God! I was sweating it out trying to figure what was wrong…..what’d I do? Why is my lecture cancelled??? I’ve known the dean personally for years, as we serve on a community commission together. The Dean proceeds to tell me the instructor Janice was dismissed that morning. A very pretty 25 something woman with a great figure and<b> dresses </font></b>like New York…..VERY stylish, perfect for a well-respected Graphic Design professor. She proceeds to ask me “do you know about the gangbangs?” WHAT? Gangbangs??? I barely new the term but knew what she meant….I think!! I repeated what she said in disbelief……Gangbangs??? Janice?? My professor friend? Whoa!! The Dean asks “haven't you ever been invited???” What the heck?…… Apparently she was inviting 3-5 male students from her classes to her home Friday nights….giving a new meaning to class “performance” grade! It was at this point I started to cry……Janice in a gangbang and ME being there participating…..Wow! “No” I replied tearfully…I never went back to CSUSB. Wow! What do you know....so unassuming.  |
