Elevator to Heaven Another in my series of TRUE stories from my past August 1978 I was sharing a penthouse with my roommate Pat, a radio engineer for a company who maintained apartment washers and dryers. We lived in an award winning awesome white apartment complex on the Esplanade in Redondo Beach, just south of the pier and Veterans’ Park. It was the largest building on the block.
