Tree say what?

A Newfoundlander walked into a fish market and asked the<b> owner </font></b>if there was any job openings , the<b> owner </font></b>said they needed someone but wasnt sure about hiring anyone as long as they could answer some very important questions to see if they qualify..The<b> owner </font></b>looked the newf up and down and seen he was dirty and looked like he never showered but in all fairness said he would ask the questions anyway...hoping the Newf wouldn't get the answers right he started..
Owner: Sir without using numbers will you draw what you perceive to be the number ?
Newf: sat there for a bit and started to draw.." there you go " he slid the paper toward the<b> owner. </font></b>The<b> owner </font></b>seen that the Newf drew three trees on the paper, " how in the heck does that make sense? " Newf Leaned ahead and said ," tree and tree and tree , that makes ," he folded his arms and sat back..Ok said the<b> owner </font></b>to himself , i gotta make this harder so he doesnt get the job, " Ok now how would you perceive without numbers the number 99"
The Newf sat there looking up at the ceiling and hauled the paper back in front of him, he took the pencil and prodeeded to blacken all the trees, passed the paper back to the<b> owner </font></b>and said ," there thats 99"<b>. owner </font></b>looked at the paper and laughed , got him he thought. " Ok how did you come to that conclusion , makes no sense to me , show me."
Newf leaned ahead and pointed , " see now the trees are dirty, so dirty tree, dirty tree and dirty tree , makes 99". he again sat back and smiled. The<b> owner </font></b>was getting worried that he may have been had so he said ," one final question and it is without showing any numbers show me the number 100".
Newf took the paper and pencil and drew a small dark line down by the base of each tree ,<b> owner </font></b>thought he had him again..
The Newf pushed the paper to the<b> owner </font></b>and said ." now a walks by each tree and takes a dump , so therefore dirty tree and a turd, dirty tree and a turd and dirty tree and a turd makes 100, so when do i start work?"
