Oh What a Night...
Oh What a Night... Late November back in 75... The 20th of November precisely, a Thursday where a young pregnant woman was having her baby shower a week before Thanksgiving. On this day during said shower, the ladies life will forever be changed. See on this day where the #1 song was That's the Way I Like it by K.C. and the Sunshine Band... That fateful day before she was ready or due, she went into labor. Her mother drives from Gifford ave straight down Ridge Rd to Parma General. The whole way on the wrong side of the road holding the horn down. Complaining there are never police around when you need them. You see the woman was in advanced labor and the baby was coming. On this day that Rolling Stone published their interview with Ralph Nader. The day before the Militant issued a publication. This day instead of watching the $25,000 Pyramid with Dick Clark and Anita Gillette, Adam-12, or Hollywood Squares with Don Knotts, Dionne Warwicke, Jonathan Winters, Suzanne Pleshette, Karen Valentine, Dom DeLuise, Robert Fuller, George Gobel, and Paul Lynde... at 7:36 PM A bouncing baby boy was born. Of course you have guessed that boy is me As a collector I have gather things from my birth month and year. Some to the day. I have my love for Sci-Fi and the unexplained Comic books, magazines all things i'm into I go looking for to add to my collection. Of course I have what the adult community liked as well. In which I really do like reading the articles Yes the articles haha. In fact I enjoy reading all these publications from November of 1975. It gives a good broad look on the US and world at the time I came to join the race of humans. The sad thing is, its been 40 plus years and a lot of the articles have the same rhetoric we hear today. Very interesting indeed. Have you ever looked at the day, month, year (friends tune in my head) you were born to see what the world was like? |
