Why we do this

I read the profiles and I realize we all have the same frustrations. Very few people here are what they claim to be. For men, we encounter women who are trying to get us to sign up for webcam sites or bogus verification sites, or guys pretending to be women. For women, it's guys claiming to be anything in order to get laid, lying about anything from their marital status to their penis size to what they're actually looking for. Unfortunately, there is more nonsense like this in the online adult dating experience than there are real conversations and meetings. So why do we all do it?

The answer is because sometimes the person is real. If you've ever had that moment, that beautiful moment when you meet someone who is everything they claim to be. They look like their pictures (within reason), they want what they say they do, and they are actually into the things you put on your profile. In short, you make a real connection. I can tell you from experience, they do happen--they're rare, but they do happen. We're all freaks on a site like this, in our own ways, and when two people who are freaky in the exact same way meet, it's magical. It makes it all worthwhile. So good luck finding your freak--I'll go back to looking for mine.
