 i usually start with "hi... how are you today" if i IM someone. If they don't respond i assume they're not interested and just move on.

 lol me I got a big mouth and a smartass mouth always got an answer for anything and everything ...I piss em off real good if they start the opening line like a fuckturd..then I let em have it ...after awhile they run out of steam so I then ignore them they go away ..if a guy im's and does the respect thing after I read his profile I don't mind chatting but I refuse to chat about body parts and private life..lol its entertainment..and after all guys are guys and if they see pussy on a platter then they feel all women are on here for a romp....my observation and opinion...lol

 The problem with not answering an IM is how buggy the system is and how bad it is about having messages disappear into the void either due to timeouts or just server issues.

If I get a "not interested" response, that's end of story and I won't message them again. If I get no response, then it becomes "was she not interested, did my message get missed because of FriendFinder-x deleting messages after 10 minutes, or did it just not show up at all for any of a variety of reasons" and I'm more likely to try again later.

 meh..it's just an I.M. .... nothing to get upset about. You can step out of those conversation at any time. Not like he is holding you by the hair.

Some women on here are pretty good with the pick up lines... while others, ..ha.. not so much.

 Pickup lines are boring. They aren't always crass though. Sometimes they're just cheesy. Either way, I generally close out those IMs.
