SHE has freed herself from
The manifest destiny of HER birth

Having suffered HER physical bonds for so long
SHE at last is freed of those shackles

Ready to tackle
HER new life

A life defined on HER terms
As SHE yearns to fulfill

HER
SECRET SELF

Freed to fulfill HER vision now
Instead of that foist on HER by someone else

Or society, Religion even
"Girls are girls and boys are boys"

But somewhere in that dichotomy
A NEW GURL IS BORN

Born of her own desires
An immaculate conception if you will

In an age and time when the platitudes are
"You can be anything you want to be"

So long as your "being"
Is socially acceptable

Perhaps SHE is not what God wrought
Perhaps SHE is born of thought

And the IRREPRESSIBLE DESIRE
Burning hot

Like a fire
In HER soul

And
Loins

Heart, Mind and BODY
All struggling as one

To seek a definition
Of what SHE is

Instead of what SHE was told
SHE had to be In her youth

SHE is a lucky one for many exclaim
"What's the use?"

And continue, as Thoreau said,
"In lives of quiet desperation"

But this newborn GURL
Now lives in anticipation

Knowing what SHE is to be
SHE IS NOW BECOMING

And what of HER chrysalis?
The discerning eye will see

The Butterfly emerges
Spreading HER wings

Experiencing HER
URGES

With the hope of satisfaction
Now within reach

For SHE is true
To HERSELF

Not
Anyone else

And what of this transformation?
Some see Moth I say Butterfly

For how can it not be?
SHE looks like a Porsche

In HER mirror
Who cares what is under the hood?

And in the midst of this TRANS-formative period
It is only natural to live what SHE has become

Old or
Young

SHE now seeks to
Belong

To be appreciated, respected
And molded perhaps by a strong willed man

A man strong enough
To accept HER as she is

To treat HER
AS SHE wants to be treated

In the end I submit this GURL
Is no different than anyone else

SHE just wants to be respected and accepted
As SHE sees herself.
