The first night continued
The first night continued While I tossed and turned in Boise, she was in a hotel casino lounge near the Salt Flats being social with the many fast bike heros, still full of adrenalin from seeing 200 miles an hour on 2 wheels. There were every kind of guy. The wealthy, the sponsored race boys, teams and crew support, the cleaned up mechanics, everyone had driven past my wife as she was a flag girl on the course and had made an impression. She, on my ok, was scoping the possibilities until it narrowed to two guys who couldn't be more different. One guy in a nice shirt and a denim jacket offered to buy her a drink and also mentioned he had noticed her on the course that day. Things were going well, swapping stories from the day, when he was upstaged by a tattooed more down to earth (clearly turned his own wrench kinda guy) slightly younger smart-assed confident guy wearing a t-shirt and strong sinewy arms. The nice shirt guy had started talking about himself and was clearly a catch for someone that appreciated comfort and money. D was looking for the artist and something more than a fat wallet. In this world it was speed and machines that required the right touch. There were a of of hot guys. Only a few had any game. It came across to my wife that here was a prospect that may not fold under pressure. He looked you in the eye and you felt he was privately messaging you his intentions. Fun and funny, this guy was good. An hour later, they found themselves alone at a table in the same lounge. Everyone else had said their goodnights and decisions needed to be made about what was next. The guy, I will call 191 (his race number), leaned in and kissed my wife on the lips. She did not pull back. He brushed her hand and took another taste of her lips. He then moved to her side of the booth, they sat closer and made out some. She says, the next thing she knew they were getting a room at the casino hotel. I know how she loves hotel rooms. As she was leaning against the counter at registration, she hoped this was ok with me... to be continued. |
