 I worked in the medical field (hospitals) for many years. weekends are busier but just another day. most of us work 3x12hr shifts per week so there is plenty of time for us to do what we want the other days of the week. As for Holidays...same thing very busy so somebody has to work but if you have family there is usually always someone that will work for you that wants the holiday pay!

 Life goes on, people get hurt as much or more on the weekends and holidays. and as someone who is scheduled to work basically everyday, much like medical care professionals I think they should get the same benefits that I do, double time for the day worked and 8 hours of comp time to take when they want to make up for it.
Not the Whole Truth but the truth that I can see.
