The Song od Songs by Ellen Gilchrist
The Song od Songs by Ellen Gilchrist Barrett, first reminded of Mothilde from "The Necklace," unhappy and unappreciative of what she had. When Barrett wouldn't allow her husband to sleep in her bed and made the comment about his tacky taste, I was almost sure of her distain for life, but the story unwound, it seemed Barrett was a deeper person, who was only caught in a confusing situation. Barrett liked her husband and respected him, unlike Mathilde did hers. Barrett liked the little things about her life and her husband; the fact he was a listener and how she snuck quietly to check on her little showed these things. Being adopted made her a complex person. She wasn't sure how to handle the fact her mother now wanted to be a part of her life. Barrett didn't want her mother's selfishness to affect the rest of her family. the same time, she still wanted to be apart of her mother and have her family participate in her experiences as well. This very much reflects how I feel about my own experiences in life. To always feel unsatisfied and unattached due to this sense there is more in life. To want to connect to an individual on so many levels, but to not let them completely in. This story is a good analogy for those of us yearning for intimate moment where you can walk away satisfied and not care if you see the person ever again. It is the moment in the here and now is most important, not if I will see John doe a day, a week, or even a month form then. To find right chemistry where you are comfortable and there is no awkward "what you like honey," but the feeling both people already know how to induce pleasure for the other and themselves. Anyone can just FFUCK, but can you seduce someone's mind and body to where they are left so satisfied all they would have to do is remember the moment and become aroused. |
