How long do you normally have to communicate with someone on a dating site before you actually meet?

From my experiences it is usually a couple of weeks to months. Since I a lot, most of the time I try to make connections in the area in which I’m traveling. Therefore there usually is some time that passes before I’m actually able to meet someone. But, based on what I’ve read on here, others seem to take about the same of time even if they are local. So if you think you’re going to come on one of these sites and meet someone the same day as you first start talking to them, the chances are highly unlikely. I’ve actually had more luck with just meeting someone and going back to my room a hotel bar, restaurant, etc than I ever have on a dating site. That doesn’t mean it can’t happen, just have<b> realistic </font></b>expectations.

What has has been your experiences?

It has varied, but several weeks at least

 It depends on the conversation but once I decide to meet someone, I like to do it within a week.
Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!
