Anyone else feel this is a waste of time.

 Sometimes it's a waste, depends what you're looking for. The IM on here definitely sucks, needs an overhaul badly! So you just chat on a regular chat. If you're hesitant to share your number, go to google voice, or talk a text, or any number of other services and get a free number. That's my best advice.
