ok honestly I think u have every right to be upset. cos he left u hanging like that. A charger can be bought/burrowed if really he means to meet u. I may sound negative and judgmental, but I think he is playing a fool and doesn't have the guts to tell u the truth. Sorry I this is harsh. I do hope for the best.

Wow...what a piece of shit. Never leave a Lady in waiting and then use a lame excuse. Really phone battery was dead??? I could see if cellular phones had just come out. Shit how hard is it to fine a charger...my car has the ability if I just leave it in the portal. You definitely have the right to be made and upset. He is an ignorant liar or a door for not keeping his phone charged. Opinions needed

a blogger was to meet a guy she met on here and he never showed. bottom line is that he had a horrible accident and ended up in the hospital. as soon as HE was conscious, he explained what happened. she even went to visit him in the hospital (at his request). that's a damn good reason. you are within rights and reason to be upset and/or disappointed. whether a first or second meet, this is not how you go about it. as an adult, he couldn't tell that at some point his phone would need a charge  child's play, poor excuse. he makes it sound like he wasted his time but your time was wasted too. his smell of indifference without offering an apology of some kind is a red flag; speaks to his character. and when people 'show' you the type of person they are, you are to believe them. honestly, i wouldn't contact him any further. if he was/is remotely serious about meeting ever again, i would let him contact me, but i would NOT agree to another meet so quickly. i'd go right back to emailing or texting (however you two were communicating) until i felt like he was serious or could assure no faux pas as dumb would happen again.

Shit does happen, but yeah i think you have every reason to be upset. 5hrs is one hell of a wait and I admire your patience. i hope it did not ruin your day too bad after that. I myself have been guilty of being reliant on technology too much to a point where i don't recall too many numbers off the top of my head ... gone are those days where we could pick up a public phone and dial a loved one
