You might have heard of the unusually elevated temperatures that the Pacific Northwest is experiencing. The retail store I work at in La Conner on Mondays doesn't have A/C. The owner told me not to come in today (which is supposed to be the worst day of the heat wave lasting through tomorrow afternoon.) Would have been uncomfortable, but think I would've been fine as on Saturday he brought in a powerful fan that blew right towards the check-out counter. Even with the fan the owner had me close early on that day. I appreciate his consideration for my well being; my extra time off is being paid!
La Conner's biggest economic driver is tourism; every Saturday since mid-March has seen the town filled with visitors. I live there also and on Saturday started walking home about 4:45. There was still a little bit of activity near the town center, but as I got about a block and a half away things became unusually quiet and still. It was almost eerie. Normally, there would be bustle, and cars and people all over the place. The town's one grocery store had three cars in a lot that otherwise would have been a bee hive.
In an unrelated note, my brother told me about Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo coming to a nearby casino on August 29th. Have been wanting to see Ms. Benatar live for a long time. Went to their website and was disappointed by the lack of details about the show. The last time I researched a concert, Dennis DeYoung a few years ago, he had a lot of details listed about his show, including the full set list. As you can see from the photo, those details are pretty lacking here when a person clicks on the info button:

For all I know the concert will only be eighty or ninety minutes, maybe with a portion being of Mr. Giraldo's material, which doesn't interest me. Unless some unusual circumstance happens, such as me winning tickets from a radio station, am going to pass on this.
Anyway, since I had extra time thought I'd check in with everyone. How are you doing? Later on.
