ARE WE WASTING OUR TIME?

We have noticed that there seems to be a lot of people on FriendFinder-x these days who are more into talking about hooking up and pic collecting than there are people who actually want to meet others. Example: Just last night, we chatted for about 30 minutes on IM with a guy who claims to be a "NO BS, NO DRAMA, READY TO MEET" person. We invited him over for some threeway play. After he found that he would have to dive a whopping 20 miles to get to us, he stated that it was "Too far to travel."
Folks, THAT'S THAT BS!!
Are we the only ones who run into this? Are we expecting too much? Are we crazy? Or, have people become so scared of things that we see and hear on the news that no one is willing to take a chance on new encounters?
No matter the case, it's a shame that such a great opportunity to meet others of like personalities and desires has turned into such a waste of time for us all.
