Have a good one people....

I work today as usual. Though the Gym and laundry rooms shouldn't be too bad. For the most part the tenants have been sanitizing the gym equipment down after they have finished using it. Judging by the rate the levels in the spray bottles of disinfectant are going down, though I've actually seem some of them cleaning the equipment first hand. I still go over the equipment my self when I'm in there doing my work. The machines in the laundry however...don't get the same attention from the tenants, even though we've placed sanitizing spray and paper towels in there as well.

Finding lost socks, G-string panties, loose coins and what not stuck in between the door gasket and the all washing machine bodies is a twice daily event. Not to mention things left behind in the drum. No one ever really checks to see if that T-shirt they thought they washed is still in the machine stuck to the top of the drum. I won't even get started on the lint left on the lint filters on the dryers. You could knit a sweater or two with all that stuff. I spent an hour on Friday cleaning out the compartments that hold the lint screens, sucking out all the stuff that had fallen off the screens with a vacuum hose. When I got done the dirt cup on the vacuum was full to the brim, and I started with an empty one.

Then there are those new scent beads they have out now that you put into the washers to keep your clothing "smelling like they've just been washed" for weeks. yeah, those things are a pain in my ass. They never fully break down. What's left behind are very small bits of sticky, slick micro dots of goo that I can never get out of the drums of the machines. It's like trying to get a piece of hair off a bar of wet soap. Next to near impossible.

A word to the wise, if your using a public laundry room always check the machines before you toss your load in to get it done. The above outlined things I've told you about are just the "nice" things I've found in the machines, the bad stuff would send you running for the hills... Oh, and always remember... "Your Mother doesn't work here, Clean up after yourself!"

I've wondered about those scent things. You've convinced to not try them. Thank you!
