Or was it just a bit of banter between old friends? I've known her for some time now. Been friends with her and her now ex husband back in the day. We'd all hang out together going places with other friends in a group setting. Heck when she and her husband broke up we even went out on a few dates, though nothing ever came of them. At the time we were both looking for something else and agreed it worked better between us just being friends. So, it surprised me when I got a text from her yesterday. I didn't know that she even still had my number. A couple of weeks back she had posted on that Book of Faces that her daughter was looking for an apartment, no big deal when I answered her post that her daughter should apply here as we had some empty units at the time. She replied to that, thanking me for the heads up and I thought nothing more about it. So, when I got her text out of the blue yesterday it made me wonder.. oh the conversations started out with the question did we have any open units still.. sure. But once done with that the conversation went on to other things..was I going out much, seeing anyone? No to both questions, hell I told her even before the pandemic hit I wasn't doing the dating thing. That I'd just gotten tired of the game playing that comes along with the whole scene. She replied I wasn't missing much as the dating pool was as much as I remember it, shallow and not very fun. We chatted a bit about getting older, the aches and pains that goes with that. Had a laugh about it and I said considering the alternative option, that I'd take getting older. She then chided me for being logical about the age thing, I wrote back that well It was just my nerdy self coming through emulating Spock and his logic..she wrote back that was okay..that she liked Nerds....Okay that bit did toss a cure ball to me. Even as dull as I am when it comes to women and their ways I could tell that was a flirt. Any who we'd been texting for twenty ,minutes or so and I'm not a big fan of texting, being the type that would rather talk to someone then text. It's hard to do, all those little buttons on my phone and all, I'm always hitting the wrong key and having to fix the word or words I'm trying to type. So I wrapped things up by telling her to have her daughter call the office on Monday to see what was available and what was coming available, and get on the waiting list for a one bedroom unit ( know we have at least one coming up at the end of the month ) She said she'd have her call, then told me how much fun she had talking ( texting ) with me and I should not be such a stranger and give her a text once and awhile. That she liked talking to me...Told her I'd put her on my call list and said our good byes...the last text I got from her was a winking smile face.... Okay I'm a guy..a bit dull when it comes to women. It could of all been just my imagination and the whole conversation innocent, all about finding a place for her daughter...but I really don't know. What do you think? Any who Time for me to jump in the shower now....
