Well, the unit I've been painting is finished. Now I get to go back in and put everything back together today. Clean up any messes and make sure it's ready for showings. Not that is isn't being shown already, a nice looking man stopped by yesterday while we were painting the place and wanted to have a look around. Now ever since the virus hit, the complex has had an open door policy, where people who wanted to view units could call and the PM would give then an address as to the style and size of units they wanted to view could go and take a un guided tour for themselves. It works out...sometimes. Often I'll have people stop in to a unit I'm doing, and for want of a better term shouldn't be shown "Just" yet. Those units that are not really ready to be seen.

The funny thing is, the units are getting rented, even if they are in a state of disrepair. I guess it's the new normal? I don't get it? Granted any problems there might be with the places are fix A.S.A.P. and things are put to right. But it takes time, as we all know Rome wasn't built in a day.

The buildings are old...some reaching the one hundred year mark already, and others not far behind. As any contractor or maintenance man will tell you old buildings usually come with a unique set of problems, and often times when your trying to retrofit something you have to scrounge for parts or supplies as those that would easily work aren't being manufactured any more. It can become frustrating at times. Even more so when your doing a job and someone comes in to look at the place while your in there doing your work and you see that "look" on their face. The look of Ewww.. what did I walk into? I get it. But then when you look behind the curtain your bound to see something you don't want too.

No Rome wasn't built in a day, and it sometimes takes longer to get it fixed so you can take the tour.

Off to hop into the shower now....
