It seems most of the country is in a heat wave. Mother Nature sure seems to be getting in her licks this year. Oh, I'll grumble sure. But I really don't mind the heat. I'd rather have it then to be freezing my butt off shoveling snow. I'm not a winter person. Though during heat wave like the one were going through now I'd much rather be at home sipping a cool drink and lounging around my house nude, then outside and working in it.

More painting yesterday. It seems that one of the luxury units that was moved into a few months ago has been vacated. A short time even for one of those places. From day one when the new tenants moved in there was nothing but complaining from them. Seems they really didn't care for the place from the start. Okay... you toured the unit, opted to rent the place and then complain the entire two months your living there. (?) What gives (?) Not like anyone was twisting your arm to move in. Any who after they moved out ( thank the fates ) The place needed repainting. Yeah the unit has had an up grade, and every thing and I mean every thing in the place was the same shade of gray. It's a look I'll give you that much, but not a design choice I would have made myself. But the owners wife will be done, and she was the designer on the units. Soooo.... Any who, paint. As any one who's painted a room in their home and has gone back to do some touch up's later will tell you, is that new can of paint you buy at the Big Box Hardware store, or home center to do the job isn't going to be the same shade as the one you painted the walls with previously. No matter how much the places tell you they can match the color. Different lot dyes happen, so the new stuff will come out lighter or darker depending on the intensity of those dyes. It's a given. Sure enough the new paint we got to paint the unit was a few shades lighter, with more of a blue tint to it. So, no touch up painting where things rubbed up against the walls. The whole place had to be gone over. Well...for the most part. we didn't paint the soffits, nor the wood work and left those the darker shade. I think it came out okay, the two toned affect breaks up the dull gray drab it was previously . But what do I know. We're still waiting to see what the powers that be will think of the job, if they'll let the two toned look pass or fail? Good thing is that if they want the rest of the place painted the same color.. we have plenty of paint left over to do the job.

The afternoon saw me helping with replacing ceiling tiles in the hall way of an occupied unit...that was fun. Not. Hot and uncomfortable, no air, in a small hallway with no light. ( Both sconces broken by the tenants ) Measuring once and cussing twice to get those tiles to fit...yeah no. I'd have complained to the guy I was working with about the cut job, but I doubt I could have done a better job under those conditions. As it was we got the tiles in and it looked okay. Not a bad job given one of us is a painter by trade and me who's main job is to clean things.

Any who, time for me to hop into the shower now...The weather mean say it'll be cooler today....let's hope so.
