Almost. I spent most of the morning hauling small (?) branches over to the woods. All that's left now are the large chunks too heavy to carry sitting at the base of the tree. I had help to do the job.. not that the other maintenance guy was enthusiastic about doing it. Most of the rest of the day I spent in finishing up a unit another tenant wants to transfer into. The previous tenant of the unit went in to the hospital and never came out. He'd been living in the place longer than I've been employed here. Needless to say, but after he passed on the place sat idle for some time, ( three or four months ) The problem was getting in touch with the guys next of kin to clean all his stuff out of there. Yeah that never happened, oh they came and boxed some things up, took what they wanted but in the end we had to call a trash service to clean the place out. To put it mildly, the place was a wreck. All the appliances were junk. ( the man never cleaned them and don't get me started on the fridge and the condition it was left in ) all new stuff was put in to replace the old that was too far gone to clean. The state of the windows in the place is what took me so long in there yesterday... ( four and a half hours just cleaning them ) Enough dirt in the window wells to start a small garden. Well, at least enough to put in a couple of tomato plants. The tub...yeah I had to use a steel wool pad to clean the muck off of it. Caked on dirt and grime.. ick. By the time I got round to cleaning the floors it was time to go clean the laundry once again. I still have to run a vacuum in the place on the newly installed carpeting to get up the loose fibers. So I'll be back in there today to do that. Then I'm off to prep clean another place that I've been waiting to finish since last Friday, it's scheduled for a move in tomorrow. The painter still needs to texture the ceiling in the bathroom where there was a leak before I can get into that one though.

Fun stuff huh?

Well it's starting to feel like October finally. Chilly and windy, with rain. I knew the eighty degree temps wouldn't last much longer. I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did. It felt weird with it being so hot outside and it being October. Almost like mother nature had forgotten about the season. No matter, things are as they should be now I guess? Better late than never I suppose? As long as the snow and even colder temps hold off for a bit I'm good with it staying this way for a bit.

Well, I suppose I should hop into my shower now.....

Wouldn't it be less expensive for them to hire a maid service to clean the apartments? You have skills and could focus on bigger things.
Have a great day hon!

Funny story, well not funny but it touches on the topic you described. While on vacation one year ( off for a week ) A unit was needed right away, well with me being off they called a maid cleaning service in to do the job of getting the place ready. After two days, and I think the total of four different maids from the service the boss called me at home and had me come in and clean the place as it should be cleaned. The "Maids" just weren't up for the job, no matter how hard they tried. The kind of deep cleaning I have to do on a daily basis isn't something most services aren't geared for. Don't get me wrong the maids did a good job, but are more for tidying places up rather than full on flips of units.
