Wow, December has been off the charts as far as weather is concerned. Needless to say but my heart goes out to those who suffered through the recent tornados this past week. Around here we were spared. The winds blew but nothing like the devastation that occurred in other parts of the country. A lot of downed tree limbs, lawn chairs that hadn't been put away for the season blown off decks, and a few power , and cable lines down. That sort of thing. Clean up was easy and swift, not like the clean up from the worst storms... that will take some time to do. The healing, for them won't be as easy. Hugs to you all who have lost family members, or friends. May the grace and joy of the holiday season see you through the days ahead.

As I mentioned yesterday I've got my Christmas shopping done for the Grand minions. Or at least I thought I did? Seems the oldest one, has one less gift then his younger sisters sitting wrapped under my tree. I had planned on stopping at the hobby shop last Friday when I was out doing the shopping to pick a model for him to put together. He's into WWII airplanes big time and model building. Well, with rushing around and the search for what to get for him as well as his sisters It seems to have slipped our minds that we needed to stop at the hobby shop. So, one less present for him than there should be. I always try to keep things even between the Grand minion's... every one gets the same amount, so no one feels the other got more things than they did. So another shopping trip is in order for this weekend. As I said I try to keep things even, but the youngest Grand Minion is having her first Christmas this year, and most if not all the things I bought for her are the "useful" kind, new outfits to wear, a few small things like the pacifier bob so her pacifier won't fall too far away if she drops it, new bottles... things of such nature. Her mom said..no toys she's too little for them yet. Okay I don't know about you, but I figure everyone deserves a toy at Christmas no matter how old they are. So while shopping for a gift bag to put her stuff in to put it under the tree yesterday, I picked out a small stuffed toy for her, something her hands could grab on to. To cuddle with should she wish. Yeah, Mom and dad will shake their heads....but who just wants to receive just useful stuff at Christmas? Even if she doesn't or won't really know what going on or what Christmas is right? My hope is that it will bring her happiness when she's old and gray. Perhaps remembering the little stuffed toy, her first Christmas and her Papa and the love , after all that is what Christmas is really all about. It's not the gifts...it's the love that's behind them that count.

Off to shower now....
