COVID-19: Members Take Precautions

We are in the midst of a pandemic.
Cases of the virus COVID-19 are rising across the country, with the highest numbers being in California and New York, according the Centers for Disease Control.
President Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency, and people are asked take every precaution prevent the spread of this potentially deadly virus.
A school district just seven miles from us has canceled classes until April. Mass gatherings, such as sporting events and mega-church services, have postponed or canceled events.
What about our community here on FriendFinder-x? Are we being cautious? After all, this site is about hooking up with strangers in our communities. I don't have any statistics from this site, but I can imagine that every day, all over the world, hundreds of thousands of people are meeting up one-on-one, or at group events have sex!
Think about how this could help spread this disease.
I hope everyone is curtailing their needs and sticking watching live or recorded videos on this site, at least until this crisis is over.
Until then, I, for one, am not going be meeting up with anyone! In fact, I am going stay home as much as I can, only going out in public when I have work or go the store.
People, if you do arrange to meet up with someone, please take precautions. If you have any of the symptoms, it is best to err on the side of caution and stay home! Ask questions of potential partner(s). Have you been out of the country? Are you or anyone close to you, experiencing any of the symptoms of COVID-19?
If I hosted a dating site, I would shut down messaging, comments and other forms of direct communication to discourage people from meeting up until the threat of this virus is over. But that's just my opinion.
I hope all our members here at FriendFinder-x are staying healthy and safe.
Take Care.
S.

Shut down messaging and comments? I don't think that's such a good idea, although I understand your reasoning. But people will be more bored and lonely than ever due to social distancing so letting them socialize online would help with that. Now is not the time to close down any online communication.

Plus it wouldn't stop the assholes who want to spread it around. They'll just go out and spread it around some other way.

I'm staying home most of the time right now myself, and not even trying to meet anyone from here.

President Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency, and people are asked take every precaution prevent the spread of this potentially deadly virus. ..... We seem to be forgetting, or don't know, that the same people that could potentially die from the Covid-19 virus, would die from the average yearly flu viruses.

There are people, getting better, who did catch the Covid-19.

After all, this site is about hooking up with strangers in our communities. ... I'd be surprised if they are , but I'm going to say, "Nobody is hooking up for a while", with the exception of teens and twenty-somethings. But even these kids can die from Covid-19 if they vape, smoke, or have some kind of organ problems.

Shutting down communications isn't necessary.

Yes, you all are probably right about shutting down communications. And there are assholes out there who don't give a shit who would just find another way. I am glad, however, that there are intelligent people on here who will stop meeting up with people for the greater good.
It is true that very few die from COVID, but I, for one, hate even getting sick! And these viruses do have the potential to mutate and become more dangerous. So why spread it if we don't have to? Better to err on the side of caution I suppose.
