Stairs ( stares ? -- maybe )

I went back and read Neal Stephenson. My third or fourth time. The man's a bloody genius.
Combine pipe organs with a deck of cards?

Dunno why he's not a world leader... these things take time I guess.
He should meet up with Ray Kurzweil and we'll have flying automobiles in less than a year.

ahhhhhh That's probably not a very good idea. Some people can't even drive on the ground : )

Books with over one-thousand pages can sometimes be intimidating.
I get that.
I read more than I write.
I draw ( or paint ) about half as much.

But I'm not really certain that anyone cares one way or the other.

We want happiness.

w h o doesn't?

I have a friend w h o lives almost exactly 300 miles away from me. His n a m e is Dean. We were neighbors long ago.

He and I have lived almost parallel lives -- music business. Big tours. Loud sound. Always on the road.
We laughed after we finally met because we realized that the reason we didn't know one another was because we were both doing exactly the s a m e thing.

Pushing buttons and turning knobs so that tens of thousands could hear their favorite songs.

Dean taught me a really neat trick when tuning a piano.
I showed him a better way for soldering cables.
We were good like that. Once you can trust... you share everything.
We both saxophone. We meander on keyboards. Sing like birds.

Anyway, we lost a really good friend recently. Heart attack. Happens so fast.

Can't attend a funeral... fuckin' COVID.

So instead, he sends me a photo. He went deep into the woods. Showing me something I didn't know for myself. Trees.

Trees can dance. They do when we are not looking.
So much reality that some folks " magic " HAPPENS because we are not looking.

Look at these trees dancing:

" Her smile had in it something of the intoxication of parched earth after a sudden and furious downpour " -- Henry Miller The Colossus of Maroussi. I sure wish I could write like that!

Hey Normal, hello.

I stumbled across your blog by happy accident and I will most certainly be back.

Strangers or not, I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.

Music. I wouldn't exist without it. Literally.

Write more. I know i should and life is better when I do.
