How to start a conversation with a woman?

I have not dated in ages and I need help on how to strike a conversation with women. I am well-read and<b> traveled </font></b>so I can pretty much discuss any topic. But I feel I might just be boring. I am not shy talking about sex but I feel this is not the first thing that I should talk about. I'm very bad at opening lines also, and always seem to make a fool of myself doing so. I speak 3 languages, French, English and can get around in Espanol. I am a translator by trade although I have stopped working in that field.

So I am asking you: How can I start an interesting conversation that won't be boring for ladies? Thanks for taking the time to read me!
