The New Instant Messaging I think it sucks...what is your opinion ? |

Sadly It is much the same as the old system from my prospective, neither one has worked particularly well, and while the technical difficulties have been many and common, and seemingly easily corrected, the true problem for me is that the women thatI attempt to engage in a conversation simple have no interest in doing so. Not the Whole Truth but the truth that I can see.

Part of the problem with not getting responses, assuming the message And associated profile is something intelligent that women would consider worthy of a response, is that the system shows people still on IM long after they have left the site, as well as those using the mobile site or app being automatically shown as available whether they want to use it or not, so they simply ignore incoming messages.

It is worse than the old system! Can't see anyone in my area and won't let me sort.... shows people from half way around the world... would rather have the old one back!

IMHO, the new version of Instant Messaging is worse than the previous version. Why? 1. The "thumbnails" are out of focus. 2. The filtering is terrible. a) I want to see who's local to me. Instead, I see profiles from people hours away by air travel. b) I'm interested in women only. I see other profiles. 3. The IM pop-up takes more area on the screen.

Today was my first time using FriendFinder-x IM first complaint is it is showing people online not even close to my location I am seeing people from out of USA why in the hell would I want to chat with someone that far away . I have tied to make it change to distant location but nothing works I would like to go back to the old one ASAP

I think it is a screwup. I sent in a message saying that it doesn't work.. Let's see if it gets fixed.

I'd say it is worse than the previous edition. You need to turn your cam on basically to create a private chat room if you want to chat...

the old system was sketchy at best and made "chatting" an annoyance. so, i'm not even tempted to try this new IM version. i agree, the chat thing is not for me. now, text? someone wants to text, i can get with that so long as you're not type of lunatic.

What annoys me and I use the site mostly on a computer, is that when I sent a message previously I was able to just Enter to send, now I have to use my mouse and left click which is a extra step, Also when i delete a message i have to bring the message up in the box and view the picture sent with it, which often I do not want to do.

Agreed, it sucks. Typical FriendFinder-x, the more they try to make things better usually ends up being much worse.

give it some time.. they will work out the kinks They took away profile views then email and now you need points to chat. seems like now they push viewing paid models more than any other use of the site. We actually met quite a few people in the beginning some worked out some didn't but there was a much better chance of actually meeting some one back then, FriendFinder-x does not respond to suggestions they don't seem to care if the chat works properly because it has never worked well at all there has always been problems with instant messaging from the beginning up until today. FriendFinder-x was bought out a while back from the original owners I believe it is a subsidiary of Penthouse now and as long as they can get people to pay to see the "models" they seem to care less if the rest of the site works properly, they use to give a guarantee if you didn't meet some one with in your subscription period you got your money back you had to send a few emails and follow a couple other rules which were reasonable if you were actually looking to meet some one and they offered different length subscriptions up to a year now I believe 1 year is the only subscription offered they also had 3 different levels of subscription gold silver and bronze with different amounts of access. While you can still meet people on here it is nothing like it was before, you can give it time for them to work out the kinks but if they were seriously concerned about the site other than the paid models it would have been a priority to fix chat and purge all the fake profiles and profiles of people that haven't been active in years, but if they purge the fake and inactive profiles they couldn't lie about how many members they have and if you read the terms they consider you online if you logged in within the past 4 hours so you could log in for 2 minutes and your considered online 3 hours later. here is a quote from the terms of use "We reserve the right to create accounts for quality control and administrative purposes. Such accounts may be publicly viewable." I wonder how many they create? and at the bottom of any screen there are links this is from *Note About Numbers "The calculation of the number of accounts, members, listings, logins, and any other similar information appearing on this website is updated approximately every 24 hours. A "member" is a user account which has been logged in within approximately 2 years, has an available profile, and has an active email account. A member is considered "online" if they have logged in within approximately the last four hours. "
