Succulent is a synonym for...

Zaftig

I love this word. This is a word we women who have hips and asses and boobs use a lot. It’s not a word for bony scrap meat women. It’s a word for women who eat, who revel in the taste of love, life, who salaciously lick their lips when talking about dry rubs, snork. It’s a word for women no longer worried about bikinis.

Wait, what?

Yes ma'am. Truth is being spoken here so if you don’t want to listen…not to worry. feel free to disregard. Zaftig women don't care. That worry left the room when they decided that their body was never going to be a size 2 and that the men who loved their bodaciousness were just fine with that.

No, we really don’t look great in some of those slinky tops; the ones that prepubescent girls are noted for. But slide them into something that cups their ass…..lord have mercy. Something that skims over those beautiful full breasts where babies suckled, oh god, save me grown men find themselves puckering up, hands rising, ready to latch on, it’s a playground. Uh huh.

Not saying you skinny girls need to eat yourself into 500 pounds of booboo’s mama, just saying men favor meat on a bone, soft flesh to a sharp elbow. Not a single man I know will let a muffin top scare him away from a woman who is lustful, who can turn him inside out til he drops over onto the soft cushion of her body, replete. Not a one.

And that myth about zaftig women being grateful? Pfft.

You will crawl, begging for more. We are THAT good.

Just sayin’

if you want another RT image........just check out Lala....the Goddess put in some overtime when she spun that women out. she is the epitome of ZAFTIG. but I didn't get her permission to use an image so..........damn, I should have thought of that.

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

bony scrap meat women
As a fat woman, I need to put in a word for my not-fat sisters. One of the ways the patriarchy keeps us down is to construct these false competitions, to create these barriers.

Some men favor a woman who is built for speed, some a woman built for comfort. Some men favor the feeling of softness under the flesh, others prefer the firm ripple of muscle. If it's not right that people speak ill of us fat women because of our size, it's not right for people to speak ill of thin women for theirs.

Please notice that I did this in one comment as oppose to spamming the thread. Just sayin'

And yes, Yiddish is a wonderfully expressive language.

wickedeasy replies on 11/4/2016 9:02 am:
noted.

I was, until I was 32, a bony scrape meat woman. and never had a problem with men wanting me. i'm just saying, I prefer my curves now that I have them.

I think this was wonderfully written!~ Men will choose who and what they want in a woman. There's a place out there for ALL women, shapes, sizes, colors, etc.

I had never heard of the word. Thank you for enlightening me! I feel I resemble that description in many ways.

Zaftig,,, the women described this way could be tall or short, but they definitely have a good amount of meat on their bones; cushion for pushing...

The telling sentence here was " That worry left the room when they decided that their body was never going to be a size 2". When that is stated, it is understood by those who have no problem with reading comprehension that these women were never going to be that size due to height, due to appetite, or due to build.

What some people don't realize is that if you are short enough (4'10" and thereabouts) and a size 4, you can be somewhat zaftig. If you are 5'9" or taller and a size 4, you are what is called "willowy" and sinewy, and those kinds of lovers of that kind of person pronounce it loud and clear.

While we might say Zaftig women are sexually voracious, too, this isn't cause for feeling insulted. That statement is only in praise of a certain kind of woman and thin women should not see insult where none is intended. Obviously THIS post is about the woman who is voluptuous and seen in Renaissance paintings as fecund and fertile.

Anyone insulted by this post needs to just take a deep breath, and either skip it, or at least collect their thoughts into one comment. I don't understand why one would feel a need to state their opinion multiple times when if you simply stated everything in one clean sweep of a comment. I also don't understand people who feel the need to run around getting insulted by these types of posts. If someone wrote a post in praise of the extremely thin, like the male blogger GB does, I don't take offense. He likes that. He is still my friend, though he would never want to get it on with me. That is called simply having a preference, and everyone has the right to do that.

Good post, WE. I hope to see more posts where you celebrate your size, your sexual appetite, or you preferences in men.
Kk

I doubt you will kk as it was the result of a dinner conversation with friends that brought it up. all the men agreed that adelle would win over Madonna, for no other reason than she ha meat on her bones........grins.

and so.........a post

wickedeasy replies on 11/5/2016 9:59 am:
I was being a bit naughty. grins

it is important that any woman love herself....that's a given.

but women who have had babies or are more than a size 12, often find themselves outside the fashion loop so to speak. just try to fin a cool dress...dare ya!

but naked......omg........we are yummy.

and indeed, there was no intent to criticize anyone. all is good.

You really did get to the meat of it with this comment, Missy. There's a whole industry devoted to making women unhappy with their bodies, and both men and women buy into that. It's marketing run amok and does irreparable harm. And all for a dollar. Just as fathers can teach their sons to be gentlemen, women- and men- can teach their daughters to detect this bullshit on sight. They'll be healthier and happier for it.

the industries built around shaming women are huge. fashion is one of the most obvious but plus size women's clothing isn't pretty or sexy and the fabrics are cheaper. go to a size 20+ and it's polyester muumuus.

unless you have scads of money and can afford really high end clothing.

You set a fine example here, putting all your thoughts in one box. Maybe she doesn't realize that the box is big enough for all her thoughts, even if all those thoughts are the same thing, over and over and over.

Wicked wrote a fun and affirming post here for Zaftig women, and now we all have far too much Joy in our lives again. Sigh.

My usage of the word "fertile" in my comment was not assuming that smaller, or thinner women were fertile or not fertile. My comment was completely within the realm of Art and the Renaissance. Perhaps someone sees insult where none was implied. That says more about the commenter than about my statement.

I will continue to have my opinion, and I am not zaftig or thin or small. I don't describe myself as curvy, or big or anything of the sort and yet I can see the loveliness of this post.

Thank you again Wicked Easy for this lovely post on that word, zaftig, Many writers love Yiddish
kk

PS Schmuck and putz are great words and I use them in my writing but meshuggah really comes to mind at this moment for me.

Hmmm.....who doesn't like succulent, passionate, lusty women? Ok, that's rhetorical....I realize there may be someone somewhere in that camp. Not me however. Zaftig indeed. Eager, thoughtful, wordsmiths are especially appealing, and it's apparent that many of those posting here fit that description.

Proudly lusty and zaftig -- and my man worships me as a goddess.

Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale
Her infinite variety. Other women cloy
The appetites they feed, but she makes hungry
Where most she satisfies. For vilest things
Become themselves in her, that the holy priests
Bless her when she is riggish. ~~ from Antony & Cleopatra

lusty, zaftig, voluptuous, SUCCULENT....oh my, these just became my four new favorite words. I've been feeling a little blah for awhile (ok, most of 2016) but things have taken a turn upwards. Hadn't quite gotten to the part of happier me=more sexual me but now it's totally on my brain (and moving quickly to other parts - ha!). My couple loves me regardless but I'm guessing they will wholeheartedly support a renewal of such things in me!!!!

Snork! (for no real reason except every time you say it, it makes me happy - really happy).
