Creature Creativity

I always felt that any animal that has intelligence and can hold objects should be given the chance to paint, draw, or play a musical instrument.

In captive environments, like a zoo, it would be an enrichment activity. A variety of animals paint, and it would be interesting to see what other animals can come up with. The same with musical instruments. Show the animal how to use a drum, a harmonica, or a piano, and see what they can do with it.

We can't be the only creatures in the world who are creative.

I also think that Great Apes in zoos.. chimpanzees, gorillas, etc.. should learn sign language. One, it would make communication with their keepers easier, and they can tell the keeper if they're hurt, just want something, or other things. Two, if the zoo advertised free sign language classes, people might take them, if only to say they talked to an animal, even if it's just to say "hi" to a chimpanzee.
