Yep, all the time. Never have the right words at the right time. I never do like it when I get compared to people's other whatevers. My brain always goes into no-shit mode thinking, "and if I was, you'd be with them."

Near the end of my marriage, my husband began doing things he never did before, like calling me names. It happened twice and, both times I thought, I should have said something back. On the last day of our marriage he said to me, "Have you looked at yourself in the mirror lately? Do you see anything I'd wanna have sex with?" But I was prepared! I looked back at him with all the love I could muster in my eyes, as I walked away and said, "And you have a tiny dick, but I still wanted to make love to you." It was a very satisfying moment for me. Elevate me...

I can't tell you how many times that has happened to myself and probably most people. I agree that if my brain would have engaged just a moment earlier I would have had a good line to say back but then again maybe it best I did not and I just walked away with a thought that " maybe I am a better person for not making a return dig .... ha ha, got ya with my silence ! .... lol just a thought ... giggle
