An Old Friend

Last night, I hooked up with an old friend. She and I have known each other since 1998. Over the years, we’ve hung together, ate together, drank together, and even played wing man/wing woman for each other when we hung .

We haven’t seen each other in several years. But, when we connected yesterday, it was like we hadn’t seen each other in a week. Picked up right where we left off.

Yesterday, she had made a statement. She said that she had always Felt more comfortable around men and that her friends has always treated her as “one of the guys“. She said that was frustrating sometimes because she was definitely a woman.

Last night’s hook up was more of a romantic encounter. If you read my stories, you’ll know that’s not usually what I do. I don’t know how much of our link up was pandemic relief… maybe a lot of mutual attraction and sexual tension compiled over several years, opportunism? Or is it possible that it’s very hard stay “just friends” with people you like?
