Chameleon

Chameleon
written February 15th, 2021

the chameleon
delights
in finding vibrant
others
to reflect on his
skin
taking on one's
brilliance
until the next calls like a
siren
the beauty of each uniquely
intoxicating

until there is the inevitable
absence
no one to love
him
for the reflection on his skin of
them

without
them

who
is
he?

He hides, yet he is there
He is himself
It the other that see themselves
He'll be there
It's you that has to find him
What are you hiding from
You can't change
You can hide

I identify with this poem more than I care to admit. Years of trying to be what I thought the other person wanted has left me without my self now. Very well written, sen.

My name is MrWrong and I approved this comment

I write, to say something, to get it out of my head. I share these, I guess to be seen, but also, so maybe somebody knows they aren't the only one.

A chameleon in nature changes colour in order to protect itself; not so different from what WE also do.
