you are absolutely right about physicians' self-sacrifice, and it's maddening when I see anti-maskers, covid deniers, etc carrying on

Sorry for the loss of your father. To me it's not something you get over. More like something you learn to live with. It's hard.
Good for you, to take the time you needed! Sending you good vibes...

Thank you for your work. The work of physicians, nurses and other healthcare workers was lifesaving, at times dangerous because of COVID, and not always adequately appreciated. Thank you again, and know that many., hopefully nearly all of us do respect and appreciate it.

Seize the day...

Take the time you need to consider life and breathe. Many of us appreciate the terrific health care effort made over the last 15 mos. Hope you find the answers needed.

sorry the world fucked up so bad you did not have the time to grieve one of the pillars of your life.
to true to sad that many health care professionals put the mission before their health, both mental, and physical... so yes
it is good to reset every now and then
to climb to the top of a mountain... to see how small we are in the greatness of space
to inhale the sweet saltiness of the ocean spray... to smell the freshness of life
to find a green meadow, silent and calm to hear the scream of tranquility
and keep in mind that if you lose your way... you can not guide your patience
but
NO
we may not be able to say THANK YOU for we are overcome with our own fears... but we are not UNGRATEEFUL

there is a world of difference between insane and stupid

So Sorry for your loss.
You deserve a vacation and hope it helps you reset and get you back to how you were before COVID changed the world.

I can only echo the sentiments of the people above. I was moved so much it compelled me to put pen to paper.
Only those involved in the front line services throughout these horrific times can truly empathise with the emotional, psychological and physical toll it has had upon you all. We (those that are decent, reasonable people) recognize, appreciate and applaud all your efforts. It would have been quite easy to say "not my problem" and kept isolated and safe. The impact is ongoing and continuing with every one coping in different ways by differing means.
I have read something personal, from someone society always turns to with their problems. It is a reminder that these stalwarts are also human with the same feelings, anxieties, frailties etc as the rest of us.
I hope that you can discharge all that has been kept in you all this time. Give yourself time to reflect and remember all the things that matter and those that do not. The grief and loss doesn't go and it's coming to terms with that especially when the normal channels were not available. I'm sorry for your great loss and not being able to grieve it. We all have our own coping mechanisms and you will go through this in your own way.
I dont want tthis to sound like a lecture and apologize to all if I did. I was just so truly moved by this blog. It reasonated with me and I felt this was a place I could share my thoughts.
