Getting the Dirty Right (Interconnection)

See, I want a hookup. But I cant't just say 'hey girl,'as if one sweaty night in bed with is somehow a woman is worth. That is the opposite of truly connecting. That makes the divine element of love something profane.
No, the everyday grind is really the boring old 'profane,' and the rare air of shared time is the 'divine' experience we are all really chasing.
It's easy reduce this dirty, meaningless hedonism. But the appeal of semi-anonymous sex goes beyond physical pleasure. Casual love can be meaningful precisely because it asks for instant, total, and reciprocal acceptance on the most intimate levels possible. Pasts, futures, and even names don't matter. Just the here and now. And it's only possible if it's shared with a willing and equal partner. What could be more romantic?
I say this in the shadow of my dead marriage, which I happily built on the rock of dedicated monogamy. I see too late how this particular relationship stifled far more than liberated me. Marriage and monogamy aren't wrong; they can lead to a wholly different depth of divine pleasure. THAT marriage was bad. Now I am free to seek THIS pleasure: the pleasure of a chemistry of complete compassion, in which selfish desires can only be earned with selfless devotion to the mystery of love in the form of the partner in front of you right now.
